Sizes: S (M, L, XL, XXL) Sample shown in L size on a 34” / 86cm waist.

Finished Measurements: 25 (30, 34, 38, 42)” / 64 (76, 86, 97, 107)cm waist circumference, 21” / 53cm long (customizable), 20 (22, 26, 28, 33)” / 51 (56, 66, 71, 84)cm leg circumference.

I recommend knitting a size close to your actual waist circumference or choose a size a couple inches smaller than your waist because the fabric will stretch, especially with an elastic waistband.

Yarn: DK & Worsted weight

Sample uses worsted weight as the main gold color for a dense cabled fabric with DK weight color pop stripes. You can use DK weight for the entire project as well.

Yardage: Cabled Section

MC - 500 (550, 650, 750, 850)yds / 457 (503, 594, 686, 777)m (shown in gold)

CC - approximately 110 (130, 150, 170, 190)yds / 101 (119, 137, 155, 174)m total. CC is shown using several different color pops. Gather a range of colors in DK & worsted weight yarns for these accent stripes.

If you are knitting the cabled section with only one color then you will need the combined yardage recommendations for MC & CC.

Striped Side Panels & I-cord Leg Trim

MC (black) - 140 (150, 160, 170, 180)yds / 128 (137, 146, 155, 165)m

The sample fabric includes some variety in the yarn weight. Use the needle size you like with the thickest yarn and any thinner yarn weights will be less dense. You can also hold fingering weight yarn double to achieve gauge.

Needles: 40" US 7 / 4.5mm circular for a crisp dense fabric.

A spare needle 1 size smaller than the main needle for the waistband.

Notions: 4 stitch markers, tapestry needle, 2” / 5cm wide elastic long enough to go around your waist.

Gauge: 30 sts & 32 rows = 4? / 10cm in honeycomb cables
